Note this deck has not been tested, but it seems like a great idea right now. With the metagame being Zoo, Ichorid, Merit Liege.dec, Thopter Foundry Combo, and Hypergenesis, I believe this deck can handle all of them.

Here's the list.
MBC

4 Doom Blade
4 Tendrils of Corruption
4 Corrupt
1 Consume Spirit
4 Damnation
2 Barter in Blood
2 Mind Sludge
4 Phyrexian Arena
2 Duress
3 Thoughtsieze
2 Beseech the Queen
3 Wayfarer's Bauble/Chrome Mox/Acceleration
2 Gargoyle Castle
1 Uborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
22 Swamp

Sideboard:
4 Leyline of the Void
4 Extripate
2 Night of Soul's Betrayal
2 Persecute
3 Pithing Needle

Some card choices:

Removal- Doom Blade, Tendrils of Corruption, Damnation, Barter in Blood, are all awesome removal spells. Tendrils of Corruption is great against aggro, and Doom Blade/Damnation/Barter are great in the later Game.

Disruption- Duress/Thoughtsieze/Mind Sludge. Against most decks, Duress/Thoughtsieze is great. Mind Sludge in the later game is awesome, if you resolve it.

Draw- Phyrexian Arena is great, if you can resolve one early enough. I decided that Sign in Blood/Nights Whisper are not needed.

Mana Accel- I do believe this deck needs some sort of mana acceleration, though I'm not sure.

Win Cons- Corrupt/Consume Spirit/Gargoyle Castle are all good win cons that are hard to disrupt.

As for the sideboard....
Leylines- Great against Ichorid, and thats about it.
Extripate- Ichorid/Control/Combo, these are awesome to bring in against almost every archtype.
Night Of Soul's Betrayal- Great against random Aggro, but also against Thopter Foundry.
Persecute- Control.
Pithing Needle- Thopter Foundry, Dark Depths, etc.

This list seems like it could have some trouble against the Dark Depths deck, and some combo decks, if they are faster than the disruption.

This is not a tested list, but I will try and test it. Any thoughts??

Thanks!

Bitterblossom seems like a reasonable control card and with the board sweepers it would play like the standard r/w boat brew from last standard. Gives you a win-con and a way to chump block zoo's beasties...i watched the pro-tour austin finals thing...elspeth won't be sending stuff through the air against the little fairies...

not a clue about the format, or if this would bring way too much life loss to the deck between this and the phyrexian arena. You do have tendrils and consume as drain effects, that could keep you alive. Anyway, i dont play extended i happened to hop on here to randomly see what was up and happened to be interested in seeing what you had packed in the deck.

*edit: fairies help against zoo and can chump the dark depths token for 19 turns Razz

I don't really see Mind Sludge being that great against almost everything. I'd drop them for 1 more Thoughtseize, and 1 more Duress. That way you've got a shot against Hypergenesis game 1.

I agree with Bitterblossom in the SB, though I don't think it would be good against Zoo. It could really help against control though.

You could go for a scepter aspect with darkness/thoughtsieze/doomblade, darkness can beat zoo

I would run atleast one extirpate maindeck as a silver bullet. I use to run that main a couple of seasons ago and it helped me in almost every game. Also I don't see haunting echoes as a one of in your list? That is a must!

This seems like a good idea. I don't know how this deck can ever beat Dark Depths, though.

The thing about this deck is that it has so much removal, it beats zoo. But I would like to test some of this Scepter version.

Also, you really can't beat Dark Depths game one. G2 you have to Pithing Needle. And such, I believe it is a bad match up.

And I like having atleast one Mind Sludge. But I can see your point in cutting one for one more duress.

I wast thinking about Bitterblossom, but the life loss is bad in this deck. Plus with Duress, Thoughtsieze, and Mind Sludge it beats up on controls hand game 1, and with Persecute game two seems to get better. You might have to rely on another win condition, though. I can test out Bitterblossom. The life loss seems to hurt, though.

How would a scepter version of this deck look like?

Thanks for the input.

EDIT: wow, i didn't even think about extripate maindeck. Possibly an awesome answer. What about Haunting Echoes?

Scepter+darkness beats dark depths, hypergenesis and zoo, and dredge, and since nobodys playing affinity there isnt much hate for it

if you are running scepter then you should include funeral charm. It removes x/1's, and on a scepter against some decks can be a nice soft lock stop on their draw step and make them discard each card they draw, short of instants they can't do anything.

So what would be cut for Scepters and Darkness?

I can see -2 Barter and -2 Mind Sludge, but what else?
